After the extensive renovations were completed, we opened the doors of this new Provincetown bed and breakfast for the first time as the WHITE PORCH INN and every since then have been meticulously maintaining and constantly updating our boutique Provincetown hotel. The goal was to create a balance and mix of old and new through restoring many of the great features of the house while adding contemporary art, design, and amenities making this a unique Cape Cod B&B among the Provincetown hotels. The house was originally built in the 1840s in the ‘new' part of town. A lot of business owners at that point had their homes here on Johnson Street. During the 1800's and early 1900's, P'town had over 1,000 schooners a day in the harbor and 75 active wharfs. 7 Johnson street which is now the home of the White Porch Inn Art Hotel, was the family home of the Kelly family, who owned the sail making company in this highly productive fishing port.
Fine art has always been an important part of the WHITE PORCH INN. Together with the White Porch Gallery, we took things to a new level when our Provincetown bed & breakfast became an art hotel – enabling guests and art lovers to enjoy and acquire works of art from various artists displayed through out the WHITE PORCH INN.
