Herring Cove includes seasonal amenities such as restrooms and outdoor showers, and features two parking lots with a combined capacity of more than 600 vehicles. Wheelchair access is available near the south lot. While a snack bar was formerly available, food service will not be offered during the 2025 season. As with other local beaches, pets are restricted from protected areas, especially during bird nesting periods.
For those seeking a quieter spot, Head of the Meadow Beach in nearby Truro offers a more tranquil setting. Located about 7.5 miles from The White Porch Inn, this beach is often less crowded than others in the region. It features soft sand, moderate surf, and occasional sightings of seals offshore. The beach supports a range of activities, including birdwatching, paddleboarding, and surfing in designated areas. Seasonal restrooms and limited mobility access are available, along with ample parking spread across two lots. As part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, it maintains the same seasonal entry fees and pet restrictions as the other beaches in the area.
